of all things in my tank my new lightning maroon clown has decided he wants to host my WWC Bounce shroom. He defends it vigorously to-lol. So far it doesn't appear my bounce minds it but it may get bothered from the clown constantly rubbing up and laying on it-it looks kul tho :)

Hopefully it doesn't bother it to bad beautiful fish we also have one they are definitely eye catching.

crap!! my bounce hasnt opened up in a week now. i think its super agitated with the clown fish dive bombing it all the time. i think the fish is starving the shroom or something but im worried it might die now and that would just be the last straw for my reefing. any suggestions? im thinking i will QT the fish today and maybe buy a nem this weekend for him to get used to hosting in the QT tank and then maybe after my shroom recovers (if it does) i will re-introduce the clown and the nem together and see what happens. just dont know what else to do cause i love my clown but the bounce is the pride of my tank. how long can they stay closed (tightened up. may 1/4 of its actual size when open and happy) and still live. i didnt worry about it the first few days because i figured it would be just fine since its one of the most hardiest corals in my tank and i never have issues with it. please help with suggestions

Idk how much that clown cost not much of a fish person , but I know how much that bounce is worth an if that was my tank the fish would be finding a new home, if you are really against getting rid of the clown and you can get away with starting a small nem clown tank think that be a win win for you bounce stays happy and get to look at your cool clown

Ur right for sure- I would purge every fish n my tank just to make that bounce a happy camper again. U think it will make a comeback? It's only been unhappy for about s week+

nice ! bet it looking real good at that size , yeah I think if you get the clown away and its undisturbed and left alone it well work itself out those have been quite hardy I know I've done all but put a shoom in a blender for fraging and always come back happy I don't see a bulling short bulling from that clow being the end for your bounce, but really need to get the clown away soon as you can so the bounce can get back to happy

Clown is officially evicted. He will bite my hand if it's even near the tank but he sure knew it was moving time cause he made me chase him and ultimately pull to is to get him out-it had to be done. When I repositioned my bounce I noticed some slime on it so I'm assuming that means it's melting :( the foot looks a light greenish as well so I really do hope it's not too late.

Clown can tear up almost anything they host. Hope the bounce comes back.

I have found when a clown host something I do not want him to host like a Torch or a Hammer that if I move the coral and replace it with a Nem that the clown is more set on the location than the specific coral. This trick has helped me pair up Nems and clowns more than once. I am having a similar problem with a Lightning Clown, he is so aggresion with the Nem that it never opens up enough. The nem needs to be traded out with a larger more healthy Nem so my Colorado Sunburst can recover.

Anyway hope your Bounce bounces back!

My clowns seem to love my Goniopora, you would think it would make it close up. But it has full extension as they wrestle around in it.
