My Coral Beauty has a poop problem

This morning when I went to feed my QT my coral beauty had a long piece of poop coming out. I thought nothing of it I see them pooping all the time. I dropped some food and left. Tonight when I got home and went to feed them again the piece of poop was still there, like it’s stuck. I don’t know what I should do if anything???? She has been in QT for 2 weeks and so far everything is good, she eats and is active. Last Friday I added a yellow tang in.The yellow tang seems fine. Poop looks like a good color green/brown. All poop at the bottom of the tank is a green/brown color. Should I do something, should I leave it be?

It looks like intestinal worms of some sort. I'd treat with API General Cure and see where it goes from there!

Or treat with PraziPro. Chase fish slowly with a net, and will likely lose the string of poop from being startled.

Awww man I was hoping it wasn’t an internal parasite because the poop was a good color. My LFS has its own magic cocktail of meds for the QT that I buy. I can’t remember what’s in it so I’ll run over tomorrow and see what they are already using before I start adding.

This is what I'm currently using will any of this help with internal parasites or should I buy something different?

Nitrofuracin Green is a blend of Nitrofurazone, Sulfathiazole Sodium, Methylene Blue and Sodium Chloride. This combination is an excellent general treatment. Perfect to use as a preventative with new arrivals while in quarantine. And can be used to prevent ammonia burns while in the shipping bags when fish are properly conditioned for shipment.

FWIW, I have a coral beauty with the exact same issue. Always has been an enthusiastic pooper and as often as not has a 3" poo trailing behind.... usually brown or bright yellow. I treated for ten days with General Cure bound to mysis with focus and sweetened with Selcon and no change. Either it's a very persistent issue, or it's not an issue. I can't say for sure.

She's not skinny, growing, and becoming the tank bully, so I'm leaning towards non-issue. That stuff is good to have on hand anyhow though and you'll never have a better chance to treat than while it is in QT
