2) When you try to increase alkalinity, usually just adding buffers or soda ash will actually cause ionic imbalances. Your best bet is to dose equal parts of the BRS 2-part or some other 2-part product. Doing this with weekly water changes will help keep everything in line. Though your calcium will go up, that's usually not a problem. The water changes will also help bring them back down.
@ReefStable -- would appreciate understanding more about what you mean. I've been dosing soda ash only to raise my alk.

Yes looks like (3) 20 gallon water changes over a week or week and half will get you back to target. As well as remove anything else in the water for you.
Should I siphon the sand when I do the water change or just vacuum out water from the sump? It’s relatively new sand and has diatom.

Loaded question lol.

There are two camps here one that says clean your sand one that says let it be, the other says clean.

I take a midway point and let inverts clean it for me. Mixture of snails and cucumbers. I will say both camps have their pros and cons.

So corals looks little better except for the Kenya tree. Looks like it’s getting worst. Anyone know why? Too much flow?

Do a pretty big water change, I had this issue last week, did a water change and started doing 2 part every other day to keep all from plummeting, so far so good for me.

How much water change did you do? You have Kenya tree too?

Have you looked for pests yet? Vermitted snails were all over my tank when I checked for pests, I had problem with polyp extension also, turns out it was these little snails slimming up the corals and irritating them.

Ok I’ll take a look today. There’s nothing looking from the front of the tank, but I’ll look to see if there’s any on the back. Could it be toxin from zoas? I do have few huge zoas colonies

so nothing is working so far. A small Kenya tree died. Any more suggestions?
