This tank has been in the works for about 7 years. (at least in my head) got tank delivered last week I cant wait to get it up and running.

Tank details:
Custom made Visio. Euro braced, 44" long 20" deep 24" high. Center overflow drilled for herbie style drain. Drain is 1 1/2", return 1", emergency 1"
The bottom was drilled than tempered. I went with standard glass. My current tank is a Starphire Solana. The Solana looked great new but it scratches like acrylic. After 8 years it is showing scratches. This tank needs to last longer than the Solana as my wife is floored by the amount of money that i have spent. And I dont think I can get a new tank ever without the risk of divorce. This is what it will look like when done.

Dry fitting the plumbing today. I am so not a plumber. I have a feeling I will be up late tonight. Still no sump I will build my sump around my plumbing. Drain, skimmer section, return, refugium. the manifold will feed carbon and gfo reactors as the bio pellet reactor has its own pump.

Starting to look like a sump. This might be a stupid question but how do you silicone the inside of the bubble trap. Did I do this wrong?

Your stand has a structural flaw. It is relying on toe-nailed screws or nails to keep it from racking. You need another stick of 2X4 at each corner that extends all the way from the bottom to the top which you can tie into the horizontal 2X4s and the vertical ones. I'm not saying that is is guarranteed to fail, but if there were some horizontal forces (front to back in your application for instance, the stand has very little strength in those directions. A skin would also help immensly, even 1/4" plywood.

The problem is that sump wont fit if built as you described. The stand will be skinned in 1/2 solid oak. Are there any other ways to strengthen it. would 1/4 angle iron work. What about 2x6 cut at a 45 in each corner on the top and bottom?
 
Skinning it on three sides with 1/2" solid oak ought to do the trick. Just make sure to use plenty of strong fasteners (maybe even with glue too) along the edges. GL!
