I finally got a new calcium reactor.. thanks to bill wann at Aquarium Engineering. this still is rated up to 500 gallon tank and leaves me with a lot of room to grow.. this reactor was custom made with a 2 inch fill port in the lid. the reactor is built very well and uses very little CO2. all and all im very pleased with this reactor.. if your looking for a new ca reactor or skimmer that's 12, 18, or 24 look bill up on his website.. the site isn't fully up and running but you can contact him with an email to the page or a phone call.. hes a great guy and is right here in Wisconsin..

How's it working out for you?

I love it. I would never buy a different brand. Only aquariumeng for me... the way this reactor is built it will never get gas bubbles in the exit line throwing off your measurements. It is completely made of PVC so all seams are glue for a tight seal (no uniseal here) and all fittings are taped. With it being a recirculating skimmer it will use less gas.

It looks very well thought out on both design and space constraints. What is the footprint on that?

footprint is 7.5 x 14. overall height is 19 inches and has a 6 inch cylinder

if you where to need it shorter or something different he is willing to work with you so you can get what you want.. i wanted a fill port in the lid for easy filling and listened to my idea and ran with it and it works and looks great.. now hes going to be using as an add on option cause he likes the idea. he also tests everything before they are shipped to make sure they are leak free.

I've seen his build thread for his 20,000g tank, I'm not surprised that he is making equipment now. I'll have to keep this in mind for when I'm ready to buy a reactor.

an other feature I failed to point out is that the inside plate that holds the media up is removable allowing you to clean the crap that settles down. most other reactors you cant remove it so cant clean it
