I am upgrading from 25 to 150 gallons but the new tank's arrival is 2-4 months away. I've been cycling this dry rock for 41 days and finally the nitrites are gone. I've added ammonia a few times and it processes it down to nothing overnight. I just did a 50% water change, now it's finished.

If you had 2-4 months and fully cycled rocks what would you do to set yourself up for success? I've seeded it with a rock or two from the display tank already. I'm thinking of the following...

1) Put a light on it to start the ugly stage now?
2) Skip the light, buy $44 worth of pink and purple coralline algae in a bottle. (Snake oil???)
3) Buy a pair of mollies, let them live here, then add them to the display tank when it's set up?

What would you do?

Add a light and grow some algae, The rocks will probably end up leaching something. Or just continue down this road with continued ammonia dosing and water changes to remove anything that has leached out of rocks.
