Making this as a way to document my cycle as it is the first I have done.

6–16: I added my ammonia substitute and decided to wait a while to let it circulate before I test it.

This afternoon I will test and dose any more ammonia if needed as well as the nitrifying bacteria.

Thumps up emojii 50.png Welcome to the hobby!

Here's some stuff to read and watch while your waiting. :)

"Coral Reefs in the Microbial Seas" This video compliments Rohwer's book of the same title (Paper back is ~$20, Kindle is ~$10), both deal with the conflicting roles of the different types of DOC in reef ecosystems. While there is overlap bewteen his book and the video both have information not covered by the other and together give a broader view of the complex relationships found in reef ecosystems

So, just tested ammonia and is looking low, I followed the instructions on bottle(2.5 ml under just so I didn’t overshoot)
Think I should dose another time?

Justt realized the lighting isn’t that great. In person seems to be maybe 0.5.
Tested using salifert as it was the only one my lfs had other than api.
And now that I think about it I do have an api testkit, think it would be a good idea to check with that one too and see if they match up or is api too unreliable and may throw me further off?
