So i lost several fish due to velvet with the exception of a lame hawk. So I set up a QT and let it cycle and added my hawk who was not displaying any symptoms of any parasites. I bought a bonded pair of clown and added them to my QT. To be preventative I decided to start a copper treatment in case the hawk was infected. I added my first and second dose of copper as per the directions but didn't realize that the copper level was very low. It has been 14 days at this level but it was not at the recommended level to kill the parasites. All the fish look great and are eating and behaving normally.
Soooo here is my dilemma.... Because the fish are looking good i'm hesitant to add more copper to the QT because the fish do not seem sick. However, I am also thinking maybe I should bring up the level to therapeutic levels just to be sure.

My display is current fallow and I plan to leave it that way for the recommended amount of time (70 days)

Thoughts?

Sub therapeutic levels of copper can be dangerous as the fish's immune systems are suppressed and if the parasites come back, the fish's immune system being weakened are even more susceptible. I'd dose them all the way up to therapeutic and hold it there for at least 14 days and 30 if they are doing well in the full therapeutic level.
Which copper are you using?

Hawkfish do a bit better in a chelated copper like Copper Power or Coppersafe. Ionic coppers like Cupramine are a bit harsher on them.

because i jave cupramine in the tank can i add a copper powder to get it to the therapeutic level?

No. Two different kinds of copper. You would need to remove the cupramine first.
