Looks fantastic. Depending on the color you want, you could do 2 more blue plus, if you want less blue maybe coral plus or purple plus would put off a nice coloration.

thanks.

colour wise not too fussed as the lights will be on while im out the led will give me the visual colours i want.

im thinking whats best for the coral in terms of growth and colour.

If you do not care about the tank color, then get GE 6500K. They are only a few bucks, have massive output and render colors that other bulbs often cannot. If you hate them, then get some reef bulbs later. Daylight spectrum is always your best choice for growth and render color, but not usually very good at illuminating coral... but you can use your LED for that.

BTW - that is a nice, clean build. People would probably buy those from you. :)

Wow. I think its a destiny for me to get this done. Was just seeing Billy pipes on YouTube do this. Looks great.
By the way what t5 fixture are those.

as im in the uk i used the iquatics stuff. just ati bulbs.

always thought 6500k was more of a macro bulb? used it when i had a fuge to good success, along with alot of nusience algea in the sump.

6500k is what you are keeping grows under nature... well, just a bit bluer, actually. 5500K is more like sunlight, and 6500K is a bit deeper under the water.

5500 to 6500K Corals in less than ideal water conditions:

As I am researching and trying to add t5 to my leds right now. I have been leaning to ati blue plus and ati true antinic. Research on true antinic plus reviews online have made me believe this is the way I will set up mine.

Nice build. I run the exact same setup in my DIY fixture as well, mine is shaped more like a reg T5 fixture though.
I currently run 3 Blue+ and one Actinic. I will be going to 2 Blue+ and 2 Actinic after checking out what Jason Fox runs over his tanks and the results he gets.

Please look what they people use over their displays and not their frag tanks - most of them have both and they light them differently. If a vendor does not have a display, then look elsewhere. Growing frags and colonies are not even close to the same thing.

Just FYI I'm not talking about just his frag tanks, if you watch the tour video he uses what I wrote over every tank he has. Other than one frag tank he shows Hydra 52's I believe.

I would add a ati cationic and a ati coral plus .With the 2 blue plus it will give you great color a d good coral growth.

Actinic.

Looks great how did you build it looking to do the same

what kind of metal is it. I mean where could I diy something like that. Very Clean

You can grab these at home depot or lowes.
Google search angled aluminium. They are different thickness at the store. The outer one looks like that metal the use on step. But you can just use the angled alluminum.
