Just thought I would share my recent DIY project to hang my lights from.

1) Two 10 ft long/half inch diameter EMT conduit pipes.

2) Pipe bender and cutter to bend and cut at desired angles and height.

3) Spray painted the conduit black.

4) Drilled six 1/4 in holes in the stand and bolted three straps onto each piece of conduit.

5) I attached the hanging kit to a couple of rings that I cut from 1 in diameter PVC. This way the lights are not attached to the conduit and can easily be slid forward and backward along the conduit.

6) And here is the final product.

Looks nice. That is pretty much exactly how I built mine except I used larger pipe. I also replaced the cable with black link chain so I could easily raise and lower the light to work in the tank.

Great job Chris, I can't wait to get my light hanger built.

The hanging kit I ordered is easily adjustable. $18 on eBay.

However the chain link is a great idea and probably even cheaper.

For my frag tank I just used emt, eyelet hooks and steel cable. All from Lowe's. Just strapped it to the stand using emt straps. Worked great.
