Lol I could not wait for the weekend so I made this reactor out of some parts I had left over from a project I started but never finished last year.

Very simple may have 15 dollars in every thing.
A plastic bread container from Walmart.
3. 1/2 inch 90s
1. 1/2 inch T
1. 1/2 ball valve
Some Plexiglas
1. 3 inch rubber gasket

LOL Nice. I have a DIY reactor I use for carbon. Looking at your job, I may have to re-do mine a little. Getting the carbon in can be a little messy. But getting it out is real simple. Thanks for the post.

Very cool!
How do you regulate the water flowing in to the reactor?
I see you can control the return rate with the ball valve.....

Been using this one I built last year as a kalk reactor and has worked great.

I figured as much
I am in the process of building a nano version of that for my 16 gal mixed reef. Need to get the two ball valves and than I am ready to assemble it

Now I have to decide if I want to run gfo or just make it a carbon reactor. What should I do??????

I am really looking at this. Love the simple DIY for something fairly necessary.

Saw another on here (i think) where they used an acrylic tube instead
