My new roller mat filter showed up today! The sump kit looks like it is shipping today as well, so I should be able to start the sump build next week. I will be ordering a skimmer next, then my return pump. Any suggestions for a skimmer would be much appreciated. Have a great weekend all :)

i suggest looking at a Venturi skimmer like Lifereef.com. I inherited one from a friend, but the brand went out of business. Lifereef's is similar. you can use whatever pump you want, as long as the min output is met.

My 75g sump kit from Exotic Marine Systems arrived today! I will be waiting to build the sump until I have a skimmer. I want to make sure everything fits with the rollermat before assembly. Ordering an Iwaki return pump next week and then the skimmer will follow shortly after. I will also start the fish room in a few weeks. More to come soon :)

Great Build so far!!

When it comes to the sump kit, be careful the acrylic doesn't fit too tight. Because it will expand over time in the water and could cause your glass tank to bust. Shouldn't be really a problem in a 75g tank, but has happened to me before in a 30g breeder.

Yeah that part scares me a bit but I believe they cut them to be a little smaller to leave room for expansion. I will absolutely be double checking though lol

Like it so far. What return pump will you be using? I just purchased the 112 SCA tank and got it a few weeks ago. I will also be putting sump in basement. Im still a month or so away from starting the build process.

Im actually only a few miles from you. West Bend.

@Stephensx04, Thank you! I will be using an Iwaki for my return pump. I am not positive yet but I am looking at this 1
