MY Dream Tank 2.0

First class job!!! Great rockwork too. You have a good amount of rock and yet a lot of room for swimming and frags. Smart!

Glad I read your thread. I didn't know about the trouble folks had with man made rock holding phosphates.

That room came out beautiful too. I noticed the couch set up so you can watch the tank.

I just saw this thread and wanted to say the tank, sump, stand etc all look amazing. Great job. I did have a question about this paragraph...
Ok so if you’re wondering what return pump on went with. Iwanted something with true flow, quite as possible and energy efficient. Iwanted a red dragon but price was out of the question I started looking intoATB because it is made with all the same parts and motor that the red dragonhas. It’s even assembled in the same warehouse. I narrowed it down to an ATBflowstar 1500 or water blaster 7000. Both had a 3 year warranty which was keyfor me. When researching which to go with I ran across many many articles thatthe Laguna Maxflo 1500 was actually the ATB 1500 and had the same 3 yearwarranty. The pump cost me $108 and they even sell a mod stand that isidentical to the ATB version for 20 bucks, so total cost $128 this was a nobrainer. Look above to see the pump in action.
Are you saying the $108 Maxflo pump is the same thing as a Red Dragon? Which Red Dragon are you comparing it to? I am getting ready to buy a new return pump for my tank and the Water Blaster 7000 was high on my list but if what you are saying about the Maxflo is legit then that is definitely a better buy.

Dont take my wird for it go to reefcentral and do a search on this pump. I canr say enough about it I as also going with the water balster 7000 till I came across this beauty.

Belive it or not these man made rocks are well worth it but are a phosphate factory. I still have a slight issue with diatoms even after going through the whole process. My wife thougt I was nuts when I put the couch in front of the Tank, I think exact remark was your such a loser but in a loving way.LOL the kids and my buddys never sit in front of the TVs any more.LOL they we are always on that couch. Whos the loser now.;}

great job!

Very nice looking tank!!! Keep the updates coming!!

I think the white makes it look really clean.

Yes I agree but when we were planning what the sand was going to look like I thought white was going to look to sterile or hospital like but this far exceeds what I had in mind and actually oes well with the cherry floors and earth walls. It actually looks good with the chair rail molding I have running throught the whole basement.

I totally agree, the tank looks like it it supposed to be there and not just "put there". Hopefully I can do a tank like that.

Still doing work. Decide it would be a lot more functional to cut the center post out of the stand for better access to the fuge. So now ther are no center post's at all on the stand and the entire thing is built out of 2X3. YUUUPPP
