My Dream Tank - 650 Gallons!

maybe cavitation on return pump. I remember you mentioned a basement sump. What type of return pump?

Also, reach in and feel if pump is vibrating.

I have valves the pump back and waiting to see. Let me ask you this. I was planning on running a manifold of a separate dedicated pump. Would it hurt to run the manifold off the return line with some of the unused potential of the pump??
Agree with vette. Throttle down the return line to put more head pressure on pump. That thing is a beast. Lol

shoot for 1200 to 3000 gph turn over

I plan on setting mine with a manifold supply from the return. I've seen quite a few sumps that use a manifold to supply accessories and/or control the return flow by allowing a percentage of the return recirculate in the sump.

Got all bubbling to stop! Will drain the water our over next couple two days. Then hope to have saltwater in around the weekend of the 18th!

Mine is set up this way

In what way does it look different than yours?

Probably just cosmetics. The ballast tube sits in front of the UV tubes in yours; recessed in mine.

received 50 gallon Ben that I will incorporate for water changes! And some E-Marco 400 for aquascaping soon!

Oh the aquascaping.... that was definitely one of the most stressful parts!! Fun but time consuming. It's hard to imagine what your tank will be in 5 years o_O

Get this done today and it will your birthday and your tank's birthday !!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!!

Rock structure looks nice - how are you going to hold it all together?

After a ritualistic sacrifice, dance and prayer I will be using E Marco cement today. Also ensuring that each rock has three pints of contact (probably)
