When I first set up my tank, I bought 2 emerald crabs. I saw them everyday. Then the smaller one dissapeared. One day the bigger one was gone. Haven't seen them in a a few months. Last night my wife was looking in the tank after the lights went out and found both of them. Somehow they have grown tremendously. The bigger one is about 2 inches across now. Idk how they manage to hide so well. They haven't caused any damage (funny because I didnt know they were still alive), but now their size concerns me. I don't want them to be messing with any other of the tank mates. I'm just curious to why they were out and about then suddenly became allergic to being out in the light. Who else has these guys?

I have a few that are quite large like yours maybe even bigger. They were put in for Valonia control and have done well. As for damage, I don't see much except possibly 1 SPS frag that looked like they might have been munching on the tips. I have clams, SPS, Zoas, Leather and Gonioporas in the tank.

I have 2...bought the smallest ones I could get my hands on...yet they have grown.
They're good to go in my tank until I have a casualty that has any fingers pointing to them as the culprit.
