Probably like several on here I started my bios to keep me occupied during quarantine. I wanted to upgrade from my 16g Biocube an wanted to keep it euphyllia heavy.

I started build my own sump based off some and thought it worked well. Local guy cut the acrylic for baffles for me and I silicone them in easily enough.

I also am kind of a 3d printing nerd and tried to print as much as I could. This included a way oversized return Loc nozzle combo, filter sock holder, frag racks, and even a hose clamp (spoiler, hose clamp didn’t work).

I really enjoyed the build and learned a lot. I did a wet run in my garage for 4 weeks to ensure no leaks. I let tank cycle for about two months with live sand and rock before transferring over the rest of my live rock and some of the live stock.

Everything has been really stable for last few months. I had a slight outbreak of BJD I think I got by putting in a damaged coral that I battled for forever but everything seems to be growing out quite nicely. I did order most of the livestock from LiveAquaria and had a terrible experience. 75% of the shipment arrived DOA and never got restocked so I went another direction. I really enjoyed the build and am slowly adding more. Dog loves to watch the crabs run around.
