I am new to reefing and my last saltwater tank (fish only 165 gallon) setup was over 20 years ago. I decided to go with a nano size for space limitations as I also have a Flex 15, a Spec V and another 3 gallon cube all freshwater planted tanks.

I started the tank on November 20, 2020 with the following:

CaribSea Fiji Pink Sand
CaribSea South Seas Base Rock
inTank media baskets for chamber 2
Cobalt Aquatics Accu Therm 50 Watts
EHEIM Skim 350
Fluval Marine Spectrum 3.0 Bluetooth LED Strip Light (Works with the hood but has an app for automatic scheduling)

Current stock as of 12/30/20:

Ocellaris Clown Fish
Blue Neon Goby
Firefish Goby

All small frags from my LFS Top Shelf Aquatics:

Clove Polyp
Firework Clove Polyp
Nirvana Zoa
Pulsing Xenia
Green Star Polyps
Duncan coral
Favia
Kenya tree
Birdsnest Coral
South Beach Cyphastrea
Little baby Rainbow bubble tip anemone

I am setting up one of these now, I like the idea of switching out to a light that can be controlled. Are you using the stock pump or have you changed it out?

As of now I am still using the stock pump, seems to work fine for me. I had to keep the hood because my cats love to stick paws in the tank and I have one that will try to taste it :)

I am running stock now, but I have a bad habit of upgrading things even if I don't need to. However your experience using it trump's my urge to buy something so thank you, of course now I want a new light :)

Can't wait to see how it turns out as things start to grow.

What are your light setting set to? I need some help making sure I set mine correctly for my rainbow btas.

I am still learning the new lights, but I run daytime with a one hour sunrise to whites/blues/purple for 4.5 hours, 1 hour sunset then blues/purple for 5.5 hours.

It does keep my attention for hours sometimes
