My experiment with a dual zone

I was playing around one day and have always wanted to run both an algae growth zone and a cryptic zone to combat unwanted algae in the DT and provide a space for lots of critters and filter feeders to set up shop.

So here is what I came up with on my 180.

One drain going into a barrel of rock with a lil bit of gha and picking up some cheato tomorrow. It then drains into a 30g cryptic sump filled with some sand and rock a d my other drain going into it.

It’s empty, but yes it is real. I cannot remember where I got it from. I bring home items from my Caribbean vacations when I can.
