I have the RLSS 10-i. It is DEAD SILENT!!! I like the slow start up and I don't use the adjustable speed control, but it is a nice option. Also no micro bubbles in the sump. All these skimmers today are pretty much all the same. They all have the same basic design, just different pumps and their own needle wheel. Really can't go wrong with any of those choices.

Confirmed my suspicions, I'll post after purchase on which I've settled on. Leaning hard towards the RLSS 6 due to what looks like high quality construction. They all look to have high quality construction. Just the RLSS looks more solid.

Can say I've been hardcore looking at tere RLSS line and I'm about to pull the trigger on the R6 to test it out... Very nice product I can tell what you mean about the ford and Chevy.

I am going to tag along too ... I need a new skimmer I was going to get a Super Reef Octopus (based on rave reviews). A quiet skimmer is real important as my tank is in our bedroom. Can't wait to see what you select and how you like it.

Was wondering with which skimmer you decided to go with.

Keep us posted.

Like a compulsive dork I am i purchased the Ecotech Radion as I was blown away. So that set me back a couple months on the skimmer purchase. Man this light is soooo cool though :P

Yeah I would probably buy a radion as well. I actually bought the RLSS R6-I6 cause this thread to check it out. I actually like it a lot so far. Really cant tell te difference between an SRO besides the fact it is a lot more quiet. Skims just as well (probably better).

What radion model did you get.
Gen1, Gen2, or the Pro

Woops, ordering the skimmer tonight so I looked back at this before I pulled trigger, went with the Gen2 just because it was in the store, love it, however there was a ehem... learning period. Lost couple SPS :( too low of a setting I believe. Getting the 6 tonight!

Need to mark this for later reference XD I'm going to need to purchase a skimmer myself soon.

Got the RLSS 6, only at two suppliers in US :( Went with aquarium specialty though due to better rates to Alaska. I'll do up a good build thread when I get there. 4 years now and the pro tank is finally coming together. Exciting stuff.

They said it was on back order for over two months. ARGG. So in the mean time I bought a Trigger 30 Ruby Sump and if they don't have it in a couple months then I'm going to get the Vertex instead. Problem is the first chamber is rated at 11" x 13.5" and the skimmer is rated at 11" x 11". Sounds like a tight fit.
