Red Sea has good tests for magnesium and calcium. I have their ph one but went ahead and bought a monitor for more accuracy. For alk, I have Red Sea but find the API Kh test much easier to read.

Ill have to look into those are they more expensive then the API kits? That's all my lfs sells. As far as my parameters go they look good 0 ammonia 0 nitrites 5 nitrates!

Also is it true that once you start having a diatom outbreak that that means your tank is cycled? True or false?

5 nitrates really makes me wonder if you have a sufficient cycle. You want high ammonia and nitrites to turn into 0. Which will result in a high nitrate reading.

What's your definition of high? Because your statement isn't really true. Cycled tanks don't need to have a high nitrate reading.

Parameters are looking good 0 ammonia 0 nitrites and 5-10 nitrates firefish and corals are doing fantastic and just added two clowns today!

Anyone have any suggestions as far as coral and rock placement or anything else? I added another filter and aqueon quiet flow 30 so now I have 2 filters on there next I'm going to add another set of lights!!

Went out of town for 2 weeks and everything looks great! Water levels are good and added a goby. The fish store told me it was a bumblebee goby but I don't think it is does anyone have any ideas?

I've been out of town for a week and a half tank looks good added another t-5 light fixture some zoanthids a blue mushroom and a candy cane pistol shrimp! Everyone is happy! The pistol shrimp is even starting to follow my wheelers shrimp goby around!!
