Now I will start this thread by saying this is not in my main dt, if it was.... I can't even imagine. I was at a frag swap over the weekend and now looking back did something stupid, didn't look at the fish, I only looked at the price. There was a yellow eye kole tang for 25 dollars and with people all around me I rushed to grab him. Here are the things looking back I should have realized, 1: the fish was already in a bag and not in a tank, 2: the fish definitely had some patches but I didn't look real closely till after I was away from the crowd. I quickly realized something was off but was only offered the option to swap him for another one, knowing that if it was ick they all would have it anyways I resigned to setting up a quarantine. I had a 37 gallon and a hob filter lying around so I rushed to get it set up once I was home. I did use two sizable chunks of live rock because I am using hypo not copper and didn't want to risk and ammonia spike. I haven't observed him eating yet, but he seems to be getting better. I know now to be much more careful when buying fish. We'll see where it goes.
