So I was bored today and tried my hand at some aquascapeing for my new build. What's your thoughts on my first attempt? 20200404_171726.jpg 20200404_171714.jpg 20200404_171707.jpg

It's a 120 standard. I plan to have mostly softies, some gorgonians and sea whips and some entrusting corals. I didn't go overly high because of the fact that gorgonians need space height wise to grow.

Nice. I like your two end structures. I'm a "2-island" guy so would remove the rocks directly in the middle. I might also suggest angling your large structure slightly.

Changed it up a little today. I am also planning to add some live rock. Possibly a arch between the two structures or maybe a flat slightly curved piece coming from the right side of the left structure to the sand bed. Not sure yet.

I prefer the open nature of this one. I also recommend keeping the rock lower than you think it should be; this gives the corals room to grow out and fill in the area and look you were originally attempting to create.

Go hi a build levels. Looks more natural. Start 2-4’ below water line. Then you can move corals to their lighting needs. Build coral frag flats on rockwork where you want to place corals before putting in tank.
Snipe posts of frags when gluing to flats. Easy the move your corals around then

So this is what I ended up going with! The left side has 2 overhangs and alot of tunnels. The second. smaller right side also has some tunnels and alot of good hiding places!

I'm happy with the way it turned out! My son says that the overhangs look like 2 snake heads so we are calling it medusa mountain and I think that the smaller hill looks like where the grinch lives, it even has his cave at the top, so we are calling it mt crumpet!
