My First Build

I have Currents on both my tanks. Eventually I added some T5s to my 75, but my 30 has just one Current and doing fine.

Which Current did you get, how much and did you purchase 2 of them?

Happy 2021 Everyone. Tank is now 6 months old. Fighting the uglies a bit still while warfare plays out in there. Managed to keep everyone alive and happy (except my snails) so I must be doing something right. Only bought 3 corals so far and am not happy with the growth and coloration I am seeing as of yet. I've had them since September and my Sunny D Zoa has only just now grown 1 new head. I treated myself to 2 AI Prime 16HD which I ordered last night. You know, since the government sent us that $600 stimulus that they want us to put back into the economy. Can't wait for their arrival. I'm sure I may eventually add a 3rd but on a budget these days. Not happy with the PAR the CURRENT LED SYSTEM is putting out. I'll keep them on hand to use on my QT tank. Coraline appears to be showing up on the rocks. My nitrates and phosphates seem to be a little higher than I wanted so started dosing vodka a week ago. They're not horrible, but higher. Nitrates usually just shy of 10 and Phosphates at .14 to .17. Sorry for rambling today, Just kind of more of a dear diary post for myself also. Anyway, thanks for putting up with me today.

Yeah the current usa products in generally are the lowest quality/value on the market. If you can't tell I hate them haha.

Next time you want to save some money on lights get a led black box from Amazon. There are plenty that will do well. Most famous is viparspectur or something like that

Happy New Year again folks. Time for an update. So much happened in my box of water this year. A few deaths sadly and some major hair alage outbreak. Just as soon as I got the alage back under control, my tank began a slow leak somewhere around the bottom. Glad I caught it before it wal all over the place. Had to put all my poor fish in a 20 gallon tank while I got a new tank and sand. Then had to wait for help to get the new tank off and the new one up on the stand. I really kind of wished I drilled this tank to get an actual sump but 2 weeks prior to the leak, I added a new canister filter to the filtration system. The AquaMaxx just isn't keeping up as I figured would be the case. Now I have more room in the AquaMax to have a cheato compartment though to try to not have the alage issues again.

OK. Onto other upgrades. The Current light system and wave pumps were crap. Both pumps quit on me shortly after 6 months of use. I am now running two AI Prime 16, still debating a third and two of their Nero3. I finally caved and got myself 3 Kamoer dosing pumps. The canister filter (Marineland 360) I added I got on an awesome holiday sale at PetSmart.

Redneck engineering at its finest. Who needs fancy a curvette drying rack. Piece of foam from a shipping box and some 3/16 rigid airline left over from a project.
