Good evening guys!
I hope you are all having a great week!
My tank is:
  1. 7 months old
  2. 160w maxspect razor (I am going to get a second one, when my pocket will allow it :P lol)
  3. my reef dimensions: 120cm x 60 x 65 cm(height)
Parameters:
  1. NO3=~0
  2. NO2=0
  3. PO4=0
Yesterday I bough my first 3 corals! for my reef:
  1. plate anemone coral
  2. sun coral
  3. Ultra Green Frogspawn Coral
I acclimate them using the dipping method, and I didn't turn the light for more than 20% yesterday and 40% today

At the LFS they were quite open, the plate and the frogspawn coral, but the sun coral was closed even at the pet store..
When I placed them in the tank, they are not as open as they were at the lfs and the frogspawn is not extending her "arms" like I saw them at the pet stores. and as for the sun coral, also I didn't see any tentacles yet,but they are moving cause I can see the tubes getting to the top of each hol or the inverse..

Should I worry about anything? Or they are just acclimating? They are my first corals and I am afraid there is something wrong.. I don't understand these creature yet lol

Some pictures of the acclimation and pictures of the coral under the moon light :

Thank you guys in advanced!!
Have a nice week-end!

I don't have an ammonia test,I will get one as soon as possible, but I don't know why,in the lebanese market here we don't find easily an ammonia test..

Thank you Ryan for your reply! Do you think tomorrow I can go on a normal lighting schedule?? Or should I continue, tomorrow 70% and to arrive to sunday to 100%?

I would keep it low for another day or so . And get the ammonia test very important. Don't want it to spike with out knowing it can kill

I wouldn't take any advise from whoever sold you a sun coral for your first coral. Next there gonna tell you all angel fish can go in your tank. Sun coral will be closed most of the time, just feed it good and it will be ok.

I am beginning to understand what FL_Reefer is telling me.. What is wrong with my sun coral.. it is not opening.. Yesterday at night I have seen some polyps going to the top but the tentacle are too short! or not getting out at all..
Today I tried the bottle method I placed in it "lot" of brine shrimp.. I can see the polyps opening but ..... They are not reacting to the brine shrimp that are on them!
I think it is all about patience.. maybe they are not ready yet to open.. but I am beginning to worry about them

You will be ok with it, they will open up when their hungry, when the do just blast them with some meaty food. There still adjusting to your tank as well. Get ya some zoas or palys (soft corals) to start out with. There way easier to take care of and come in a million different colors. ( trust me I think I have an addiction, lol) Then work your way up from there. It's all good. Also maybe find a good LFS that will be honest with you about what there selling you. I've seen the guys I deal with not sell something cause the person was not ready to take care of it or it maybe not ''flow'' in the type of tank they have set up.

Hopefully it will work!! Oh my god I have been with corals for 2 days and I am addicted haha for the zoas I checked them all the stock that he had has poor coloration mainly brown...Here is my sun coral after using the bottle method: It opened a bit but nothing like these pictures on google:Télécharger des photosFor the LFS actually I should document myself more on coral, but I am finding a article that helps me with lots of colors with their pictures and information...Do you have any link that may help?Thank you so much!

Your sun coral looks great. I'm in the process of saving one right now. Here is a pic of mine and hope it will look like yours soon. This is after a month of feeding every couple days. Was a lot worse when I first took it.
