My first frags arrived along with a couple Mangroves... Just hoping for some lighting advice.. Tank is getting 5-6 hours of natural sunlight.. What would you guys recommend with my Vipar V165.?... Have two over a regular 75g... Thanks

I run mine at 100% blue, 10% white, blue for 12, white for 10 hours on my 65g.
But if your just starting with this light, it’s really, really powerful.
So, start with 10% blue, 1% white, pop both up a couple of % each week.

Ok, blues come on at 10am and off at 10pm.
I add in whites at 12pm and off at 8pm.

My tank is almost 3 years old now, so if your tank is under 1 year, then I might consider lowering the blues by 1 hour on each end, so we don’t get an algae bloom.

Absolutely, full dark after 10pm until 10am next morning.

My concern would be the natural sunlight which is high in the red spectrum...which can lead to excessive algae. Did this in the first year and holly man, algae everywhere.

6 months after blocking sunlight, all algae gone.

I will adjust my times uncle.. Thank you much... Any tips on light percentages?

Yup, go slow.
Maybe start with 10% blue, 1% white.
Each week, increase a couple of %, so week two 12% blue 2% white
Repeat weekly.
It’s a bit more difficult to find out where to stop, try to “read” your corals.
It took about a year and a half to get my blues up to 100%.
Remember it’s hard to kill stuff with to little light, but you can fry them in a day or two with too, high.
