My first cycle

My tank has just finished its first cycle and I want to know should I wait to put corals in or is it cool to just go ahead and start putting some coral in? Also, I want to put some easy coral in that looks good. Beginners coral.. What type and why? I have a 75 gallon tank.

What is your vision for the tank?

Soft corals, Stoney Corals or Small Polyp Corals or a mixed reef?

What types of fish do you want?

Be careful initially stocking, look around at tanks on the forum.

For an individual new to saltwater I would go with Zoanthids, Mushrooms and some easy large polyp corals such as Duncan, Torch, Frogspawn...You can go with easy soft corals such as Xenia, Leathers.

Newbie here as well currently cycling my 75

Always nice to learn from others experiences just staring out as well

I'm planning to go more towards lps with some softies and some of the easier sps down the road

Than start with some Mushrooms and Zoanthids or Palys.

You need to start thinking about water chemistry, Alkalinity, Calcium and monitor Specific Gravity closely. You can go with Xenia and Kenya trees and alike but they can take over a tank eventually so try some easy soft corals and take some time to figure out how you want to proceed.
