So i bought my first snails and one of them had this weird growth on its shell. I think it may be macro algae, here is a pic:

the growth is red, and the shell is gray the snail is staying in the outflow of the HOB filter on my tank

Can't tell from that photo, but red growth on a snail is likely to be macroalgae, yes.

Yes, they do that.
Interestingly enough they would also clean my hermits that kill their friends and steal their shells.
