I saw a white spot on my clown fish 2 days ago but he’s eating fine and acting normal. Last night my tang and other clown developed one too. It looks like something is hanging off the body (not a flat spot but not a long dangly string either). Is this consistent with Ich or do I have something else? I read that it’s really important to figure out exactly what it is to treat properly.

I’m going to try to attach photos but they were hard to take. Still just one spot each and its on the side, not the gills. They’re eating and acting normally still. This is a relatively new tank (that was inherited with fish already). Only has 2 clowns, 1 tang, and 3 chromis (plus snails and a few zoas). 180 gal.
Thank you!

Ok, so this is where the emergency comes in - I'm panicking. I read to do a freshwater dip and then treat with Cupramine. But then other people have said that's too harsh and do other things. Google says 1000 other things. How do I know what is best?

(and I got an email saying my personal info was in the original post...am I screwing something up somehow in posting? I didn't realize I had personal info in it. Do I need to do something different? Thanks)

Freshwater dip will indeed make the parasites fall off. I think best thing is to treat with copper and keep the tank fish-free during that period. (I think you accidentally selected some pictures we were not supposed to receive)

Hard to tell from your pictures. Here's a link on common fish parasites/diseases. Take a look at Lymphocystis and Ich. Lympho usually is raised up cottony/fibrous/cauliflower like in texture; Ich is salt crystal sized.

Along with your images of the fish, you posted photos of your ID and Bank info. Your QT process sounds good as well. Remember to leave tank fishless for 76 days before adding fish back in
