My first island mixed reef build

After a bit of consideration, l decided to deepen my sand bed. But learning from last mistake, i rinsed the crap out of it (man was it dirty). My bed now sits at about 4in deep which brought it up to about my 70 light par ((as per light manufacturer par depths) i have no meter)

Welp, it's been a little over a month since my crash and all the survivors seem to be doing well and the gsp has gotten it's color back. So i decided to start my restock...

Last night i got 2 Clown fish

Poor little fella is a bit stressed, hope he pulls out of it...

Well, it's been a little over 3 and a half months in this little venture and i believe in at the final throes of the cycle. The ugly hairy algae appears to be receding and i have noticeable growth of my coraline colonies!!!

Nice score. Now you need a budget for some equipment for that corner tank. You might be able to use the hex as a display fuge, and the breeder for a sump.
I was thinking about building a sump and leaving the breeder set up as my quarantine tank... I tend to suffer from MTS. I had 4 systems set up last time I was keeping fish.

P.p.s. Ordered 2 BTA yesterday

1 That should resemble this one closely

Been an exciting couple of days...

Ha. I'm glad I'm down to a single 22 gallon. That way I have time to sit and enjoy it. I guess I do have a QT tank on my bathroom counter, that gets a conversation going with guests.
Nice nips on those bubble tips

I'm probably going to stick with just the 2 for now. Well, 3, a lil frag/pod system(still haven't figured out final configuration of this island setup.) The 90 will probably be going in the bedroom.

Second controllable pump has arrived!!!

I feel like a kid at Christmas lol. Now time to remove that ancient powerhead and check out these different wave settings...

When you just rip it out and throw the box over your shoulder anywhere it lands. That is just like xmas!

Well, you got a point there lol. Now if i can just figure out how I'm going to run them...

My mushroom didn't like the flow change but my hammer seems to be enjoying it...

Yeah, my little mushroom is scared of flow and light both. My hammer likes a little bit of movement. Took a few tries to find a sweet spot, it's a 3×5" wall hammer though.

Well, after some consideration, me and the ol lady decided to move everything into the 90 gal instead of running 2 systems right now. That is if it passes the leak test.

Bonus, they said the sump pump works to..

In my excitement of getting this tank i started a build thread for it, so if everything goes right then my journey will continue there...
