Hi guys a friend of mines got out of the hobby and gave me a deal I couldn't refuse on a DSA 190. It's 60 inches long 27 inches deep and 27 inches tall. Came with a eshopps r300 sump that I plan to switch out with a DIY 55 gallon sump. As far as flow I'll be replacing what he gave me with two gyres. If you have any other suggestions I'm open to it (haven't made the purchase yet lol) I grabbed an used 8 bulb ATI Sunpower fixture to light things up for now. I'm pretty new to SPS and I think I want to do and SPS Dominated tank. Sorry if there isn't. A lot of info but I'm just excited to have a large tank and wanted to try my hand at a build thread. Will be updating very soon

I did start with my Rockscape. Maybe a 125 lbs of rock from previous builds. My first time actually gluing rock together lol it was a mess. Doesn't look like much from the front on imo. But there are a bunch of small holes and crevices for smaller fish to dart in and out of. I do want a couple of tangs and no rock is touching any wall. They would be able to swim around everything.

I do see potential in the top down view. I instantly started thinking of colors and colonies as they grew in the future. I didn't feel so bad with my first scape after taking this video. I think it'll be fine with good coral placement. What do you think? Using dry sand and it should be here in a couple days from @bulkreefsupply. I feel it'll look even better
once that's in

Sand in ... Filling with water this weekend

Looking good, I have the same tank but it's not up and running right now I had to break it down when I moved and its sitting empty in my garage right now begging me to set it back up. Best of luck with your build and I will be checking back in on your progress.

Thank you. I've been a bit behind schedule. Hoping to have water in it before the new year

Finally getting water in here. I want to be at the correct temperature and salinity and have the bacteria in the tank by new year. I have a bunch of old pond matrix from the sump of my nano to help with things. It's been in there for about 6 months. I have to basically rebuild my ATI sunpower fixture so long be tempted to cut lights on lol. Maybe I get a few fish in here in the next couple of weeks. Not sure if I should start work the tangs or something else.

As of today 1/1/22 the tank is completely filled. Salinity set, temperature correct, shrimp added, and cycle started. Now for the wait game. Guess I should get the parts to fix my lights now

I just have to do something with this stand now… I want to cover it and have a panel for the controllers and everything. I also have to repair my T5 fixture. The goal is to get it done before the cycle is complete.
