So I'm going to be putting together a FOWLR tank for a green spotted puffer (and maybe a few other "friends" if he allows it) in a 75 gallon. I have the tank/etc, but am working on building a rack system (I do a lot of freshwater fish too).
So I got a deal on some live rock (about 120 lbs) from someone that's moving so I now have it in a spare tank with heat, water movement (modified a old return pump into a spray system that goes from end to end of the tank) and light. There's a few hitchhikers I've observed so far - the little starfish and some fan worms/feather dusters. Nothing yet I'm concerned about - I have no plans for corals, so I guess I'm less concerned on hitchhikers right now.
Anyhow my question goes to keeping it live and healthy with bacteria and the like. Being a freshwater person, I know we need to keep the bacteria fed. From what I've read the bacteria in LR will stay alive with what I'm doing (my mind is really having a hard time wrapping around that LOL). But what about the other critters like the feather dusters?
Anything else maybe I should think of while waiting for it to get ready?
