It's hard to tell from the picture, is it glued down of just resting on the rock? If it's just resting, you'll want to get it glued down or a snail/hermit crab will end up knocking it down.

What would you recommend I use to afix it with? I'll try to get a better pic to show as well

Candy cane was one of my first corals too. I totally get your excitement - it took me about 8 months in my tank build to get to the point of adding coral - lol! I mostly use putty from Julian Sprung's Two Little Fishies. The only downside is it will make your protein skimmer go a bit nuts for a few days. Micro bubbles might flood your tank and your skimmer will overflow. Sounds like a nightmare but it's not too bad. You can also use a glue. I would go watch the vividaquariums.com instructional video on mounting corals. Dave will show you how to do and what mats you should use. Good luck!!

Thank you so much with that vid., it really helped a lot now all I need is some of that reef safe adhesive, what is is called again?

One other thing, how do I feed it? Right now I just add some zoo plankton and my zoas are doing nicely, just need to know what this guy eats and how to do it correctly.

Hope he got some because, I used the turkey baster to feed and it seem like it just slid of the side of it. Should I do feeding at night or day? It seems a lot more open during the day and seems to close up at about 8:00.

You can use regular superglue gel or cyanoacrylate gel. They are the same thing super glued just a brand name.

I recently have been using a lot of the Two Little Fishies Aquastick. This is an epoxy sticky that you rip off a piece and then knead until the outer shell is mixed with the inner ingredient. At this point its ready to use, (only takes a few seconds) it is very effective no matter what the size of the piece and keeps everything in place. I cannot say a bad thing about this product and it has affixed everything in my tank to keep it from moving. Much easier than glue

And in terms of your first LPS, Any piece of coral that can be kept is a trophy. I have one and it is a treasured piece even though it is my cheapest. Life is too short, keep in mind the smallest victories and keep the thing feed and you will not be disappointed.

As someone mentioned to me in another thread, you can use the Oatley 2 part sticks you buy at your local hardware store. Glad they did because I forgot all about them.

I seem to be having a problem. The polyp has not opened for about a week and a half, what would be a good way to stimulate this thing before I loose it?

Turn all flow off and put mysis on the polyps. That always works for mine. Assuming your water parameters are good.

I tried that and it seems to have made a small improvement. Now how long before I try this again?
