Hello neighbor, I have a hammer coral frag that a friend is giving me. The plan is to pick it up either tomorrow after work or next Tuesday after work. I am still very new to reefing and this is going to be my first LPS coral. I have some questions that I'm hoping to have answered... 1) I've read that they do best being placed down on the bottom or close to the bottom of the tank. I have a 7 gallon so is this far enough down? 2) I just picked up a Kessil A80 which I will put on the tank Friday when I'm off work so I'm not necessarily worried about lighting as much... or should I be? Again, 7 gallon tank. 3) I do a 10% water change every week and I use Reef Crystals salt, is this enough to provide the trace elements this coral needs? I only have one zoa colony in the tank as of right now, so nothing that would be depleting the elements very rapidly that I can think of. 4 and lastly) My PH is maintaining right at 8.0, is this good for this coral? I've read some of the threads and watched some videos that all seem to be of the mindset that corals will adapt to their surroundings as long as parameters aren't way out of whack. What can you all tell me? I'm here and ready to listen and learn!
