So my tank is doing very well all parameters reading well and decide to get my very first nem. LFS guy says that this LTA is hardy and will do fine. I follow his instructions and acclimate it over 3 hours. I place it with the current lowered so it can get a hold. Immediately my rude cleaner shrimp jumps all over it. So the LTA is unhappy. I move it to other side of the tank and it makes no attempt to connect to anything.
Everything I have read says they will flop (only word I can thing for its movement) until it finds a place.
It’s only been a day but this thing makes snails look like race cars! I guess my question is, will it just flop around until it’s happy with a spot? What’s the typical time it “should” take to find a home and open up completely? When should I be concerned?

Do you have a sand bed of at least 3-4"?

You should be able to scoop a well and bury it's foot, give 15 minutes or so to set in and attach and it should be fine, as long as it's healthy and foot is sound.

I do, it’s oolite sand though and hard to make a good hole.

In your opinion should I try to put it in the sand again?

Yeah it's a little harder w/ oolite, but bury best as you can, close to base of rockwork, maybe block it w/ a couple rocks to keep flow from it for a bit, hopefully it sets.
Turn off pumps for a bit, 15-30 minutes maybe

Unfortunately that did not work. It piled itself out as I asked it nicely to stop! Not sure why to do other that watch.

Post pics so we can see exactly what's up
