I got my first nem in trade. Food for the nem. (I cook fancy stuff sometimes) anyway, i was super paranoid about stressing it out so i took the little fish bowl they kept him in too. I thought it would come out to be in the flow, but so far...nope. Im going to try putting a small powerhead with the flow going across the opening to the small bowl. Hopefully the nem will come out for the "breeze". Wish me luck!

Maybe set a rock (or multiple rocks) into the bowl for it to attach to. Then you could move it out yourself and set it anywhere (of course, it may move again after that). It looks super happy and well acclimated. Good sign! 1smile1 You picked a nice one!

Pretty nem!

Thanks guys. It still hasn't come out of the fish bowl. It's in a small beta bowl. I've had a very small koralia powerhead blowing across the opening, hoping it would encourage the nem to come out. It's been about 2 days of that with no luck. Going with the rocks in the bowl idea.... I couldn't fit any kind of large rock in that bowl, but if I could put some rubble rock in there, would it work the same as if I put a large rock instead? I'll be smashing a rock tomorrow for this purpose, so any further insight would help.
By the way, I'm NOT scraping him off! I'm too scared to do that. Terrified I will stress him out and lose him. He has to come out, or move onto something else, on his own.

Just give it more time.

However, make sure your powerheads are covered --- would hate for it to release from that bowl while you are away from the tank, and get sucked into the powerhead.

The glass would probably be the best surface for him to be on if you werw going to pull him off,he would probably come off pretty easily. I would reach in and see how strong his is attached to the bowl and gently get him off, otherwise if he is getting flow in that area might never come out. I have one that i had to pull off rock and he did fine, he set up shop inchea from a powerhead and i was nervous he was going to get tentacles sucked in, they are usually pretty hardy if your parameters are good

Don't worry, I turn the one closest to him (temporary) off at night. I'm a stay-at-home mom and am able to watch it all day.

So, my patience isnt so great. My buddy came over today, who happens to be our local expert, and he so confidently removed my nem from the beta bowl and placed it on the rocks for me! Im still holding my breath that it wont die now. Wish me luck!

And this morning i have 2 anemones. Hmm.

Did you Dip it in anything.

I am getting a Nem but want to know if Bayer is safe before I buy it.

I Dip all my Corals in Bayer and want to do the same with a Rock Flower Anemone.

What are your thoughts on that?

I didnt do a dip on the nem. Just a long acclimation via drip method. Im pretty sure most people qt them and use antibiotics, not 100% though.

What was one, is now two
