as per usual the pics do no justice.

an id would be great,
thanks!

and a quick angled fts

I'm not sure what it is but it looks cool!

That is a job for reef squad

There's no telling of it ever had a name or not. Vendors just make stuff up to increase the appeal of them by calling them "ultra rainbow trout fungia" or whatever they wanna slap on it. Name him George [emoji1]

It is a plate but not a fungia. It is s cycloseris. The raised hill shape mouth is the way to tell. Fungia is flat with no raised mouth area.

Plates don't get as much name hype as other corals. Generally named via their colors.

this guy is probably 3 1/2 inches and a very nice size ponape frag for 120.

literally just last night i saw a plate coral like that, ill find the picture of it and link it with the name it had on it.

Almost the same. A bit cheaper too. Oh well make up for it in no shipping.

everything is cheaper online, the shipping from that place is 45$ so its not like it was a huge loss or gain either way.

Cycloseris tenuis

This is it's name. If you're looking for a boutique name, unless it had one from the vendor you bought it, it doesn't have one.

Otherwise, its descriptive name is "green plate coral with an orange rim and mouth".

i thoroughly enjoyed being educated. just proves how great these forums can be. thanks everyone!
