I wanted to stop in and say hello. It's been a long time, but I'm finally back in the hobby. I recognize some of the members names from a different site I was on over 5 years ago. I had to dismantle my 90 gallon corner and sell out but I finally have another tank and I am so excited to be back. I think reefing is a great antidote to stress/depression :) I'm in the process of building my tank. Should be plumbed by the end of the weekend, then I will purchase some live rock/sand and start the cycle.

I hope you guys don't mind me tagging along. I noticed you all have meetings from time to time and I would love to host once my tank is up and running although it will look horrible as I go through my algae cycles. More reason to stick my arms in the tank and fiddle around. I am located in Hampton Cove, so hopefully I am not too far out of the way.

Can't wait to catch up with everyone.

:welcome: Glad to have you here at R2R and the North Alabama Gang! What screen name did you go by on the other forum? I'll probably remember you from there. I think Tomoko and I are the only ones left from the original NARC members and as old as I've gotten I could choke on a chicken bone any day now and leave it all to her!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome. I was cainchristy there, H@rry. Well, hopefully I can help Tomoko keep the light burning. I sold my stock and tank in 2008 if it helps any, but if your memory is as good as mine, I've forgotten what I had for lunch!

I'm excited and anxious to get my tank up and running. I do plan on thinking things out this time and not trying to 'short-cut' to save a few dollars. I ended up buying the cheap version, only to buy the correct version of what I needed and lost a lot of money!

You guys changed up everything while I was away. I've read so many posts on halides vs LEDS to closed loops are out and Tunze or Vortec are in. I am already so lost.

Yep, I remember cainchristy and when you were taking your tank down. Good to have you back in the group. As you'll remember, we're all pretty laid back and like to have fun at meetings, (and eat too!).

Welcome Back!!! I remember you from back when! I still have the ASM skimmer I bought from you when you took the tank down! I also remember getting some Xenia and mushrooms from you way before that. :) when you get set back up I will pitch in a couple of frags to help you get started again.

It was a sickening feeling to have to dismantle all of that. It was my pride and joy. I would love to recoup some mushrooms Dave. I may take you up on that and would happily pay you! Will post pics of the 'underside' this weekend once I get everything together. Let's all pray I don't end up with 300 gallons of water on the floor. I don't think hubby would understand that. (I don't think he has realized I've never plumbed something quite so extensive...shh)

Sorry to say I no longer have the mushrooms :( I just got back in the hobby not long ago myself. I know how sickening it is to break down and get rid of the stuff you spent years collecting and growing. My pride and joy was my 220. Now I have a 50 gal that is going to be upgraded into a 125 in the next couple of weeks. I have some zoas that I could frag for you. And will be getting some other cool stuff soon.

Welcome. Look forward to meeting you. I'm rather new here but I feel like one of the family and you will too. Harry will get fat on Pecan Pie before he chokes..lol
