After about 20 years of fresh water aquariums I've decided to try my hand at a reef tank. I'm starting out with a Reef Casa Studio 18. I'm also using an AI Prime 16HD, Duetto 2 Dual ATO and a Tunze Comline 9001 (not running yet, but in the back chamber). I'm also using a mixture of Stax Flat Rock and Marco Rock, with CaribSea Ocean Direct Sand. Here's are some pics of various stages of cycling. I think I put too much rock and may end up taking some out down the road.

Looks great! Is that the reef casa stand? If so, how sturdy is it? I'm intrigued by these tanks.
Yes, it is. I got the last display model they had a couple months ago for the 18 gallon. So far so good. It's carrying the weight fine.

Looks great ! Everything looks really sharp. I’d concur with the others who suggest taking a bit of the rock out. It’s hard to resist the temptation to make the tank look full to start but the corals with fill that in over time.

Any updates ?
I've been a bit a lazy posting. Here are some updates. I've got a Gladiator Clown, a Yellow Watchman Goby, Fire Goby, a hermit crab, 2 zoas and 2 hammers so far.
