Thank you to everyone at Air,Water&Ice in helping me select my first RODI system. They answered all my questions and helped me select the right unit (even when I was still comparing prices and models with other companies).

The system feels solid! Much more industrial looking than I expected! Never having one before, I so appreciate the fact they tagged all the connections with labels for what they are.

I’m super excited to hook up this weekend. Just wanted to share!

Great system, Congratulations! I'm willing to bet you will be really happy with that system for many years to come:)

Oh! One thing to note, regularly flush the RO membrane because if you have issues with it during the warranty period that will be the first thing they ask about. Don't ask me how I know. Lol

I haven’t gone through the paperwork yet. But I’m hoping there are instructions how to flush the system? And how often it should be done? Thanks for the advice!

I think they told me it should be flushed at least once a week. I now have mine setup so that my apex does it automatically. The correct way to do it manually is in the pic below.

Funny they should suggest that since flushing does nothing on these consumer units. You should still get 5+ years out of your RO membrane unless you are making a ton of RO water.

Not here to argue, but I would like to know where you got that information. lol Maybe it was just a way for an over zealous support rep to get out of replacing an RO membrane? I don't know but I have always been told to flush the membrane and have read it in several places here and elsewhere.

I had recommendation to flush periodically to help extend membrabe life. “Not needed”; but would definitely help extend filter replacement was what I was told.

Funny side note, I shopped 3 places for RODI systems, asked them the same questions, got 3 different answers, obviously everyone saying theirs was correct. Still, I imagine it’s good practice to follow recommendations.

every ones just tryin to make their buck---- good luck finding the one whos not lying

I got it from someone that is in the water purification business on the commercial side. They also had reef tanks and their water's tds was around 600. He was going on 7 years on his membrane and still getting 99% rejection without ever flushing the membrane.

Until I see a study done that proves it actually proves it extends the life of a membrane I'm not worried about.
