Thank you for the compliment. Fortunately my budget helps to keep me in check and keeps me from rushing ahead. Has allowed me to have time to really think about what I want to do with this build.
Still thinking over the idea of aging a sump need to figure out what size sump I will be able to get to fit in.
I used a 20 long and put in the baffles. I got the glass at Home Depot. It was replacement glass for picture frames and was really easy to cut and silicon in. I should have done the return pump chamber different. I've got to get the ATO built and installed. The evaporation rate is very high the summer, about 2 gallons a day.
Where are the updates? With as much as you post, you would figure this would be a gimme

I don't regret buying them at all. Good luck and can't wait to see your tank again 
which worked. The only other issue I have had is that if the water level drops a little too much the skimmer does start to act up and starts to want to overflow.
