My first saltwater build- Fluval 13.5

Posted a few other threads so I might as well post a build thread for the on-going tank.

First we started with the Fluval 13.5, when I ordered it I also ordered the in-tank media basket and a AI Prime 16 HD light

Soon after went and got 18ish lbs of dry rock and a bag of live sand.

After running for a few days discovered an aiptasia and some other hitchhikers ( bristolworm, feather duster). Took care of getting rid of the aiptasia

After a few days of running we had some diatoms

At this point I discovered a baby Rock Flower Anemone on one of the rocks

Started checking my water levels making sure everything was good to go before we added anything. Took my daughter to the fish store and at first she picked out a black storm clownfish but I couldnt justify 110$ for the first fish so we ended up with a Black Photon

and some snails

So decided our first fish needed a buddy and went back and got another

and also got my first corals-

Thats it for now, cant stop looking at different corals but want to give it some more time before I decide to go crazy.

Thank you, was worried at first with it and having enough room to place corals, but I think I should have enough room.

Nice setup. Be prepared for the diatoms to last a while. Hopefully not as bad as mine!

it varies a little in that spot, ordered a wave maker so that’ll change Monday when it comes

Yeah as long as it's not getting blasted the same direction all the time it doesn't look like too much.

Decided on cave, it’s as secure as it can get with epoxying them together

Loving the aquascape! make sure to keep up on water changes during the first few months till it starts to stabilize.

My torch doesn't get that much flow, looks stressful lol. Wavemaker should help. Which did you decide on?

Moved power head and put a wave maker in too. Torch looks a lot happier now and extends out a lot more.
