Hi All,
First time poster here, starting my first reef tank. My tank has done its initial cycle after a few weeks with the lights off and I just started to stock very lightly. I used 120lbs of dry rock with 5 live pieces to seed it and 90lbs dry argonite sand. I put 3 small Chromis, 2 Firefish and an Arrow Crab a couple days ago. I have started a 9 hour daily light cycle with 3 hours of blue light in the evening. So far everything looks good but I really want to make sure I stock this tank responsibly. I would love to hear a few suggestions on how you would stock this tank if it was your 125 Gallon.
I would like mostly peaceful maybe one or two semi-aggr fish max, that will get along with each other and coral. I plan on having mostly softies and leathers and some inverts. I would like a pair of clowns, the LFS store has a coupled pair with an Anemone they stay with all the time. Are anemones dangerous for my future corals?
At this point I am a bit lost on what I should add next. I feel like cleanup crew has nothing to clean so maybe some more fish first till I get an algae bloom. My plan is to have a couple feature fish and then mostly small schooling type fish. I was very interested in the look and personality of a blonde naso tang but I've read my tank would be too small for an adult one and eventually I would have to give him back. So i guess what Im after is understanding the order in which to do this. Should I add more chromis and Firefish, (maybe a peaceful colorful wrasse?) and smaller stuff first then add a few larger fish (tangs?) then my coral then my cleanup crew?
