Great start, pretty exciting setting up a tank, think of all the fun to come.

That's what I started with 2 years and many $ ago. I learned many things. One is use coral dip. Also space your corals, they will grow...now I've ended up with top removed and LED light and HOB skimmer. I've not lost my fascination (obsession) yet! Have fun!

Any thoughts on fish and corals yet? What have you been looking at?

I am having difficulty choosing appropriate fush/corals. First fish will be a clownfish.
I'm still researching corals. I'd love to have seahorses at some point but I want to make certain everybody will be happy. (I was lucky enough to have parents that taught me that "pets" are family)
My LFS isn't exactly friendly to beginners.

I do not think that you will be able to house sea horses with any coral. Seahorses need practically no flow in their tank or else they will die, and pretty much all coral needs at least low to medium flow.

And a Clownfish pair is the perfect place to start! Get them when they are small and the more dominant one will become female and you will be sure you have a pair! I love your tank!

Awesome! I'll save seahorses for my next tank.
What is your favorite online place to purchase fish/coral?

Not quite true, but you do have to choose wisely. Seahorses are kida advanced. Too much flow, they get beat up and accidents happen.
IMO every tank is training for the next tank. Its part of the addiction I think. You keep learning towards the goal of what you want to do next. "Chasing the dragon" so to speak. In this case, sea dragon:D.

A very good reason to join forums is there's a lot of resources and folks who can led you in the right direction for further research.

CUz Im kinda a mean enabler,;), here's a link I found pretty quickly on seahorses. I do believe its written by a friend of ours right here on R2R.

You can talk to her right here on r2r. Brain as big as planet. Lionfishlair.

You'll be needing this too.
