So I have started my first tank. I have been asking a few questions and getting good feedback. Decided now was as good a time as any to start a tank thread.

My setup is a 40 gallon glass cube with a sump that I am running with about 10 gallons.

Lighting is an AI Prime

Reef octopus 110 skimmer

VorTech MP10 power head

SICCE 750 GPH return pump

I cycled it through with live rock and a shrimp.

Made a mistake in keeping my blinds open and got a small green algae bloom which has resolved.

Just added my first inhabitants. Looking forward to posting more in the future

The first of my additions. I know I will have to watch out for its creep but plan to keep an eye on it

Let me know what you think

Nice! Are the green stars the only thing in the tank?

I also have a purple and green paly (I think that is what it is) that I just put in yesterday but I was not home today to get a picture while it was fully open. May be next weekend before I can accomplish that task. I have ordered a pair of clowns from my LFS but will be a couple weeks before I can get them.

Great start!

Well, my LFS had a Black Friday sale and I had to buy a few new additions to the tank. Here are some pictures of my newest treasures. I had to do some tinkering with the colors to get them to look closer to real life so I am sorry about the background colors. Still trying to figure out the right camera settings.

It has been a few weeks since I updated.

Things have been going relatively well

I added a orange snowflake and a premium black snowflake clown the first week of December. One ended up with an intestinal issue but resolved with some metro. Now they are both happy and healthy.

I also added a new rock anemone but he keeps moving so that I can't get any good pictures.

About a week ago, I added a new small mushroom rock and a new Zoa rock. Loving those new additions. If it were up to me alone, I wouldn't add more fish but instead just keep adding corals.

But alas, the children have been asking for a new "living" creature, i.e. It moves. With that thought in mind today I headed to the LFS and ended up buying a chalk basslet. He is currently in hiding but did come out to eat just a minute or two after getting into the tank.

Here is to my Pirate Tank and all my little buddies
