I am not sure what is going on but i have a 93 gallon cube all the fish have been in there for over 6 months. Yesterday I noticed my mimic tang hanging out at the top and i also noticed it looked like his skin was shedding? This morning he was dead. Now my lawnmower blenny is dead and the rest of the fish are acting weird. Anyone know what would cause this??

Got any pics? Sounds like marine velvet to me. Kills super quick

Agreed with above. Pictures will help a lot to help diagnose the problems!!

Here is a pic of George and the lawnmower blenny looked normal

all the fish are acting odd my midas blenny is like hanging out at the top swimming all crazy and you cant see it on pics but in person you can. I dont know what to do i am super bummed

Someone said if there is a short in something that would cause an electrical current in the tank??

Kinda hard to tell from the photos but it almost looks like brook or a bacterial infection. Day light shots are the best for photos so we can see what’s actually going on. Blue lights show everything little imperfection and can throw us off a little.

Yes do you suspect something is leaking current into the tank?

Can you take more pictures? Are those white spots on the tang?

Did you add anything new to the tank in the last week or so?

Did you test ammonia?

I have not added anything new for a while. I am in the middle of setting up a new 135 gallon tank . I just lost my midas blenny . I have not checked ammonia but i can

I think it looks like the brooks disease. I cant remember the correct name . I am so upset. I just did a water change the other day . I will test for stray voltage. Does anyone know how that effects the fish?

Here is a good read about brook. I hope this helps.

Also I don’t want to mis diagnose and lead you down the wrong road. With that said better pictures with help us help you!!

I am so sorry for the loss of some of your fish! Totally devastating! Pics would be great as others said in helping you out! Also, when was the last time you added anything wet.... including corals and inverts?

the first post almost sounds like velvet can you post more pictures? also have you added anything at all into your tank wet recently? fish? inverts? corals?

Well i dont have any pics of the three that died already except the tang. The clowns are acting weird. It is more of a behavioral thing at this point. This is how the other three were acting before they died.

I’m sorry for your losses.
Cannot see the video. How about a photo of the clowns?

I think you need to remove all remaining fish to hospital tank. All of the most likely culprits (velvet, Brook) need to be treated away from invertebrates. Be sure to (generously) use media from your DT to bio filter the QT.

Is it possible that you somehow got a contaminated batch of new seawater for your water change?
