So long story short I bought a pair of swallowtail angelfish for my tank and didn't qt and they got ich of course. It was my fault and I will always qt in the future. Anyways I need opinions on what is the best copper tester and how long should I qt, the fish are eating like pigs so hopefully they will still eat well in qt. Thanks in advance

Copper Power
Hanna HL Copper Tester
30 days of copper for the fish; 76 days of fallow for the tank, and make sure to stir the sand to avoid anaerobic areas of the tank where the parasite can go dormant.

I have to setup the quarantine tank so hopefully they live until next week do you know if poly filter affects the copper?

Use a Uv sterilizer and feed. A fat fish is a healthy fish. I mix a lot of different food. Rods, reed roofs, garlic extreme

The male came in very skinny so I have been feeding a lot to help him, thanks for the suggestions too

I have a question, I have a new potter angelfish in QT now and we see three white spots...looks like ich. I read that these angelfish are very sensitive to copper and to try other methods...not to use copper.

Here's a thread of what fish to treat with what med that should help you. Potter angelfish are fine with chelated coppers like Copper Power or Coppersafe. They are a little bit more sensitive with ionic coppers like Cupramine or Brightwells:

Highly recommend Copper Power. Best to dose angelfish s-l-o-w-l-y up to therapeutic with small doses spread out throughout the day, AM, lunch, PM for example. This allows you the flexibility to observe the copper level increasing as occasionally we run across a "copper sensitive" fish.

Highly recommend using a Hanna HL Copper Checker to measure the copper levels. It's amazing. So much better than those very inaccurate copper test kits. A great investment. Lowers your stress and the stress on the fish :)

Here's a detailed thread on treating Ich:
