They are having clams (that I buy live and freeze) Mysis and LRS food. They get this every day but I switch the clams for live worms every other day or so.
I don't remember how old the copperband is but he was as big as a nickel or quarter when I got him maybe 5 or 6 years ago. The fireclown is about 26 and I forget when I got the mandarin but he was also years ago.

That old mandarin has been spawning for years, he went through two females so far.
I don't culture PODS. They have no trouble growing all by themselves with no help from me. I try not to keep a sterile tank and I think my reverse UG filter is a big help because it is oxygenated all the way through and pods like armadillos need oxygen. They also find food all the way to the bottom unlike a sand bed where they have to stay near the surface.

Of course you can buy them in bulk.

Do you just chop up the clams? Or do you use a food processor?

I freeze large clams and slice off paper thin slices. processors lost to much clam.

Thank you! This is a good idea but I guess your knife is very sharp. I always dump the whole clam in the tank and end up wasting most of it.

These are chowder clams and about 4" long.

I buy blackworms from an LFS in small portions and I raise whiteworms in soil. They are very easy to raise by the thousands.

What Li’s in Nassau sells black worms?

Theres one in Franklin Square on Franklin Ave about 5 blocks south of Hempstead Tpke. I forget the name. Manny the owner knows me well. The name changed 3 times. It may be Franklin Pets. There is also a Petco about a mile east of there on Hempstead Tpke that sells blackworms.
