My fish jumped...again

I lost the first fish I got when i decided to try the Salt side of life.It was a beautiful deep purple Niger trigger. It was my own fault i stirred up the sand and i think he got disoriented and jumped .found him on the floor then next morning
Sorry to hear about the clowns

I just lost my favorite clown, a midnight with an orange nose. He managed to find a hole in the netting that I had covered the back sump where another clown had perished a few months ago. My bad for not making a better cover, but this really is a poor tank design.

Here is my post after losing my 1st clown. I will have to come up with a fool (clown) proof system.
>>I have a screen top over the 45g, so no jumpers there. My 23g JBJ Nano has a top but I've had clowns jump over the partition, one managed to get himself sucked into the impeller, I rescued the other. I've since put netting over the compartments with enough water over the netting that a fish should survive until I can return it to the tank.<<

Never say never. Since starting this madness 13 years ago I have lost a percula, firefish, diamond gobie, tailspot and lawnmower blennie (never found him, probably became a scoobie snack) and a percula. Everytime it felt almost as bad as losing one of my dogs. Finally got a mesh cover once I learned there was such a thing.

Oops, hit send by accident.
1st one in QT, before I had lids on anything. Next one made it through QT and into the DT with a egg crate top. No idea how it jumped 2 inches above water and got through the egg crate opening.... 3rd one through an even smaller opening where my light's stand wouldn't allow the top to fully close. It's literally a 1/2 inch opening....
Now I have mesh glued onto egg crate for my covers....

I had a Ruby Red Goby jump to its death through the feeder hole on the EVO cover.
Thought they were hitting the cover cause occasionally would hear a click. Found out later it was the pistol shrimp clamping his big claw like shooting a gun. He is now an NRA member.
