I put the moonlights on about an hour an half ago dunno if it has to do with it but i was looking at the corals and decided to turn off flow for maybe feeding them and then i saw hundreds of what i thought were pods swimming around in the tank. After looking at them closer i saw that they def were not pods. Looked like baby shrimp? I have seen my shrimp spawn before but never thought they would hatch! Well now i have some very satisfied fish and coral!

i tried to but the moonlights were on and it made them all blurred and you cants see anything! They have all probably been eaten by now too

what kind of shrimp do this the most? i have a cleaner shrimp, do pairs of those make eggs often?
slick

I think you saw mysid-type shrimp which in my tank either stay in protected areas or come out all over at night.

I agree I have them at night and I do not have any formal "shrimp" in my tank i.e. a cleaner, blood, peppermint etc.

If you have 2 cleaner shrimp they can and will spawn frequently, they are great food for the tank. I would see the tank come alive at night when they released the babies. You do not have to worry about male/female pairing because they are both (and neither). When one molts it will be fertilized by the other and carry eggs. My flame angel and tang loved the adults and they cleaned both fish frequently, which was very interesting to watch. I do not keep them anymore because of the damage they did to lps corals in my tank, but I may add a pair to the sump just for the food they make.

That is cool that they spawned in your tank. I have a friend that had mysis shrimp growing in his sump.

What did the cleaners do to your LPS?

They would aggressively "probe" the corals and remove any food in them, even hours after the corals had been fed.
I have mysids in my sump as well. They are great critters to have in your system.
