Hi, I'm Alex from Newcastle UK and i have a project in my mind for the last 10 years.
I had many different tanks for the last 40 years, planted tanks, African cichlids tank, many species shrimp tanks, community tanks, discus tanks but all fresh water tanks, i had never deep in to salt.. until now.
So,
It was 10 years ago when I saw a post in practicalfishkeeping I think, about a marine planted aquarium with 4 Bangaii cardinals and a cleaner shrimp.
OK, it’s not exactly planted.. it had various macro-algae species but the result was magnificent.
It’s perfect for me because I can’t afford corals, very big tank, sump, skimmer and all that(to be honest I’m not ready yet for a reef) No corals, not strong light, not too much livestock. It’s exactly what I wanted.
The tank that I have in my mind is the AquaOne Horizon 182L with dimensions in cm 122w x 36d x 45h this model is just £50 more than the 130L tank model and 30cm wider. I know it’s narrow but it has 50 litres more and I will not put any corals in it so is it ok? Do you have any other suggestion?
Of course I will need all the guidance and step by step advice especially from someone that already has a similar tank.
